About Our Mission

We look closely at sustainable business practices throughout the manufacturing and supply chain and have a variety of ethical sourcing practices that we support and celebrate. Each and every treasure we carry is consciously selected and labeled according to these five qualities of sustainability:

1. Fair Trade

A product certification system designed to allow consumers to identify products that meet agreed environmental, labor and developmental standards. This system involves independent auditing of producers to ensure the agreed standards are met. This system promotes social wellbeing by preserving culture, local and global economics, and job security, while helping to prevent environmental and social exploitation.

2. Recycled

Processing used materials into new products to prevent waste of potentially useful materials, reduce the consumption of fresh raw materials, reduce energy usage, reduce air pollution (from incineration) and water pollution (from land filling) by reducing the need for 'conventional' waste disposal, and lower greenhouse gas emissions as compared to virgin production.

3. Organic

From non-genetically modified plants that are grown without the use of any synthetic agricultural chemicals such as fertilizers or pesticides. Organic production promotes and enhances biodiversity and biological cycles.

4. Handmade

Made by individual artisans rather than by means of mass production, promoting preservation of culture, local economics, and job security.

5. Sustainably Harvested

A natural resource that is gathered, produced, grown, generated or used on a scale that can sustain its consumption rate.

We thank and celebrate each of you for your support by making purchases that embody a healthy people and planet!
